In recent years there has been much research and evidence around the effectiveness of CBH which is now being recognised by main stream medicine with National Institute for Care & Excellence beginning to acknowledge that it is not only has benefits along side traditional medical treatment but can be treatment of choice is some disorders. It has been shown that that this type of combination therapy enhances the efficacy of cognitive behavioural psychotherapy and the effect is especially strong in long-term outcomes.
